We are Key Assets Kentucky, a behavioral health and child caring company based in Central Kentucky.
Key Assets The Children’s Services provider, part of the founder led Core Assets Group, is an international group of companies delivering flexible children and family social services solutions.
We are a social enterprise working in Europe, North America and Australasia, our group offers a range of innovative, client-centered services to government and non-government partners. Our range of services includes; out of home care (foster care, Kinship Care, and Residential Care), intensive family support services, visitation and reunification, disability support services, therapeutic & behavioral health services, case management, consulting, and aftercare services..
Founded in 1994 by Jim Cockburn and Jan Rees, our journey began in a small office in Bromsgrove, West Midlands, UK where we established our commitment to providing high quality fostering services for local public child welfare agencies and better outcomes for children in the foster care system.
As our reputation grew, so did we. We expanded throughout England, Northern Ireland and Scotland to eventually become the UK’s largest Independent Fostering Agency (IFA).
But that’s not all. As our fostering services blossomed we took the opportunity to apply the knowledge and the skills we gained, globally expanding our services into America, Australia, Canada, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Japan, New Zealand and Sweden.
Although we were founded in fostering, we’ve become so much more. Our expansion into services for children and families and consultancy and resourcing for the social care sector has helped us make a difference on a wider scale, both in the UK and internationally.
And because we’re founder-led we never lose sight of what made us begin our journey back in 1994. We’ve never stopped wanting more for children, families and communities and that’s why we’re proud of our history and excited about our future.
We’re committed to making a positive and lasting difference to the lives of children and families, this vision and commitment reaches across Europe, South East Asia, Australasia and North America.
Although we were founded in fostering, we’ve become so much more. Our expansion into services for children and families, and consultancy and resourcing for the social care sector has helped us make a difference on a wider scale.
Along the way we’ve developed ground breaking services, shared best practice across our international communities and continued to develop our knowledge and practice wisdom. Team Parenting®, our approach that’s been at the heart of our work with foster care from the very beginning, is also influencing the shape of our international fostering.
We believe that the basic needs of children and their foster carers the world over are the same. We maintain the dual imperative of being child centered and carer focused Estella Abraham, Executive Group Director, Key Assets International.
Making a positive and lasting difference for children and families is our commitment. And it’s not just applicable to one country but a vision that we’re dedicated to providing wherever they operate and diversification into broader semis for children and families is happening in North America and Australasia.
