At Key Assets Kentucky, we are proud of our highly qualified, licensed, and accredited community-based therapists. Each of them brings a specialty that allows us to treat various mental health conditions, from anxiety, autism, bipolar disorder, conduct disorder, depression, developmental disabilities, eating disorder, mental illness, obsessive compulsive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, physical abuse, post-traumatic stress disorder, reactive attachment disorder, sexual abuse, and stress.

Aly Bryant

Certified Social Worker

  • Over 6 years of experience as a case manager for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Expertise in helping victims of domestic violence
  • Likes working with people of all ages and developing strong therapeutic relationships with clients, providing a space where people can feel safe and heard to promote healing and positive change
  • Enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her (very cute) dog

Alex Carlos

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

  • 5 years of experience providing therapy and mental health services in both inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Emphasis on motivational interviewing and nurturing a collaborative relationship with clients to address crises, on-going life stressors, and symptoms of mental health diagnoses.
  • Preferred treatment modalities: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered, Interpersonal Therapy
  • Passionate about working with the geriatric population, as well as survivors of trauma and individuals (of all ages) who experience depression and anxiety.
  • A Lexington native, presently living in Berea, KY, who enjoys nature, crafting, and writing poetry.

Jennifer Haynes

Certified Social Worker

Experience with populations ranging from youth to adults

  • Parent-Child Interaction Therapy
  • Working with victims of trauma
  • Interested in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART).

My favorite population to work with are clients of all ages with autism and clients who are victims of trauma.
An interesting fact about me: I enjoy binge-watching tv shows on Netflix.

Cherie Jones

Certified Social Worker

  • Several years of experience working with survivors of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV), identifying food deserts in Kentucky, and assisting families facing food insecurities. Enjoyed working with at-risk youth and hosting groups geared toward empowering teen girls.
  • Interested in TF-CBT, CPT, Art Therapy, utilize ACEs and trauma-informed care with diverse populations. Would like to help remove stigmas associated with mental health and eliminate barriers to service.
  • Passionate about the fact that that healing from trauma can be powerful and positive for everyone
  • Avid reader and absolutely loves relaxing at the beach

Mikka McGee

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

  • Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Training.
  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Training.
  • Treating and managing a variety of issues including PTSD, depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, ADHD, autism, intellectual disability, and other behavioral concerns.
  • Specializes in working with diverse populations in a community and school-based setting.
  • Loves spending time with her pets and watching movies.

Caity Merritt

Licensed Psychological Associate

  • Trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral therapy and operates utilizing framework from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy
  • 7 years of experience working with all ages in residential, hospital, school, home, and office settings.
  • Specializes in administering psychological testing (personality and intelligence assessments) and passionate about treating trauma survivors.
  • Enjoys weightlifting and volleyball

Megan Swanson

Marriage and Family Therapist Associate

  • Master’s degree in education with an emphasis in family, marriage, and multicultural counseling.
  • Several years of experience providing therapy to children, parents, and siblings in such areas as self-esteem concerns, substance abuse, and identity issues.
  • Megan enjoys being active and has dedicated time to traveling around the country exploring the best hikes one can find. She loves the Red River Gorge and local music venues.

Abby Simmons

Marriage and Family Therapy Associate

  • Abby has interned at Lee University’s Marriage Family and Play Therapy Center in Cleveland, Tennesse, served as a chaplain for Lee University’s Campus Choir, shadowed hospice and drug rehab counselors in Kentucky, and volunteered as a youth camp counselor for KYC-COG.
  • Abby is passionate about cultivating growth, balance, and healing for couples, adults, and their families. She integrates Dr. Sue Johnson’s Emotion Focused therapy, Solutions Focused therapy, creativity, and experiential techniques such as art, play, and music therapy within her in-person or telehealth therapy sessions.
