Behind the Scenes: What You’ll Learn on a Key Assets Group Home Tour

At Key Assets Kentucky, transparency is at the heart of everything we do – and we believe there’s no better way to understand our mission than to see it in action.

That’s why we invite partners, community members, and professionals to attend a Group Home Tour this fall. These in-person visits offer a unique look into the daily lives of youth served by our Children in Community Care (CCC) program and provide context for the specialized, trauma-informed care we offer.

Whether you’re a state partner, a healthcare provider, a social work student, or simply someone who wants to better understand how we support vulnerable youth, this tour offers a first-hand perspective on what compassionate, community-based care truly looks like.

Why Tour a Key Assets Group Home?

The youth in our CCC program have complex behavioral health needs, often including autism, developmental disabilities, or significant trauma histories. Our group homes are licensed 3–4 bed residential treatment facilities – designed not to feel institutional, but to feel like a home.

When you step inside one of our homes, you’ll see:

  • Calming, thoughtfully designed spaces tailored to each youth’s needs
  • Routines that support independence, life skills, and emotional regulation
  • Evidence of joy—whether it’s art on the fridge or a basketball in the driveway

But more than the physical space, visitors often leave talking about what they felt.

“I expected to see a clinical environment, but what I saw was care, warmth, and structure. It’s clear this isn’t just a job to the staff. They’re truly invested in these kids’ futures.”
— Kathy Stovall, Tour Attendee, Spring 2025

What to Expect

Tours are offered by request in the fall of 2025 and last about 60 minutes, with time for:

  • A guided walk-through of one of our licensed homes
  • An overview of the CCC program and its outcomes
  • Q&A with our leadership and clinical staff
  • Insight into the referral and transition process

Each tour is tailored to your interests, whether you’re curious about licensing, behavioral support services, or how we collaborate with schools, families, and Medicaid partners.

“I left the tour with a much better understanding of how residential care can be both structured and nurturing. It’s not easy work, but it’s clearly meaningful.”
— Case Manager, Tour Attendee
