Licensed Clinical Billing Supervisor

Clinical Supervisors are independently licensed clinicians and service providers with the capacity to promote the professional development and practice of LPCAs, Targeted Case Managers (TCM) and Community Support Associates (CSA) under supervision. Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor – Supervisor (LPCC-S) applicants strongly preferred. Training in supervision and management is encouraged. Clinical Supervisors will provide supervision of TCMs and CSAs and carry the responsibility for ensuring complete and accurate billing on a monthly basis.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensures the provision of quality case management and community support to clients while adhering to the federal and Kentucky licensing and practice regulations.
  • Ensures that services provided adhere to Medicaid service definitions and billing requirements.
  • Provides supervision for assigned staff in accordance with agency policy.
  • Provides clinical supervision for LPCAs in accordance to Licensing Board requirements.
  • Orients new case managers and community support associates to Key Assets BHSO policies, procedures, forms, EMR system and billing codes.
  • Serves as a billing supervisor for billable services provided by TCMs and CSAs.
  • Complete performance reviews for TCMs and CSAs at 90 days and annually thereafter.
  • Reviews, co-signs and dates notes recorded by all targeted case managers under supervision.
  • Records a monthly supervisory note which reflects consultations between the supervisor and the TCM working under supervision.
  • Manages aspects of receiving referrals, assigning clients to targeted case managers.
  • Monitors treatment plans for clients receiving TCM services.
  • Demonstrates a sound knowledge of agency policy and procedures and relevant evidence-based tools and treatment modalities.
  • CBS may be asked to carry an ongoing client caseload.
  • Submits behavioral health prior authorization requests as needed and ensures that prior authorization is obtained before services are provided (when applicable).
  • Works within an integrated multidisciplinary team to organize and facilitate team meetings by bringing together professionals who are involved in the clientā€™s life.
  • Provides clinical input and recommendations to the treatment team.
  • Assists in the process of advocating for clientā€™s access to resources and services, as needed.
  • Shares information about Key Assets BHSO services by speaking with or meeting with schools, community partners, and other interested individuals or organizations as requested.

Qualifications:ā€‹

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment. The Clinical Billing Supervisor must possess the following:

  • Possess a license to practice independently.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience preferred and ability to provide clinical supervision to LPCAs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must have experience with clients who have severe mental illness or emotional disorders.

EDUCATION

  • Masterā€™s Degree from an accredited institution in human service field.

Required Skills & Competencies:

TRAINING AND MENTORING
  • Serve in the role of mentor and support as needed for staff.
  • Complete all required trainings.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
  • Ensure health and safety procedures are observed at all times.

  • Attend and participate at all BHSO meetings.
  • Present a professional image of Key Assets at all times to all stakeholders and customers.
  • Communicate with a wide range of audiences including DCBS staff, teachers, medical professionals, therapeutic support staff, adults, children and youth.
  • Deliver excellent customer service at all times.
  • Work with Universities to support research endeavors, as needed.
